Federico Vigevano
Prof. Federico Vigevano is Head of Paediatric Neurorehabilitation DPT – San Raffaele Research Institute – Rome, Italy. Since several years he dedicated his activities in the understanding and treatment of pediatric epilepsies. He was President of the Italian League Against Epilepsy (LICE), Chair id the Advisory Council and Member of the Commission of European Affair of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE). In the 2001 received the award of Ambassador for Epilepsy by ILAE. Has been President of Epilepsy Foundation of the Italian League Against Epilepsy. Has been the Chair of the Scientific Committee of the International Congress on Epilepsy (Rome 2011) and is the Honorary President of the next European Epilepsy Congress, 7 -11 September 2024, Rome.
He is member of the EPNS board. He is author of hundreds of publications on epilepsy.
Nicola Specchio
Dr. Specchio is MD, PhD is Head of Epilepsy and Movement Disorders Unit at Department of Neuroscience, Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital at Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital in Rome, Italy. Dr. Specchio main activity is the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric epileptic patients, with main interest in seizure semiology, classification of epileptic seizures and syndromes. He works in the field of pre-surgical evaluation of patients with drug resistant epilepsy and in the selection of patients with genetic epilepsies. Dr. Specchio has published papers in International journals with main interest on epilepsy as Epilepsia, Epilepsy Research, Epilepsy and Behavior. Dr. Specchio currently is responsible for different clinical research projects regarding invasive monitoring of epileptic patients and the genetic etiology of epileptic encephalopathy in the first three years of life. Dr. Specchio is Officer of the Italian Chapter of the International League Against Epilepsy. In September 2016 he received the Young Investigator Award from the Commission of European Affair of the International League Against Epilepsy. From April 2017 he is a member of the ILAE Nosology and Definitions Task Force
